Default Looking for a limited slip or posi

Any dead give always in A junk yard for one of these? Let me know guys. could i only use one out of a v8? Or could a v6 work to?

Engine size doesn't matter, you need the same rear diff. If you have an 8 1/4 rear diff, so does your donor, the 8.25 is visually different than the 7.25, so if you know what yours looks like, make sure it looks the exact same, I can't remember the differences off hand, I think there is a chart in the FAQ.

To find out if it has a LSD, you need to jack up both rear tires, and put it in neutral and spin one tire. If the other tire spins the same direction it has a LSD. If it spins the opposite direction it does not.

The biggest issue will be finding one in a wrecker with good clutch plates.

If ur going to abuse ur truck Mudding n such go aftermarket I've broke two posi units in my 8.25

Ahhh, that's a problem now isn't it. Aftermarket is always so damn expensive. Thanks cd! That's all I needed to know

I mean there good until you start beating on the truck.. I broke the spider gears in both units n I couldn't find just the gears aftermarket or nothing so I ended up getting a complete axle for the 2nd time.. 9.25s are string axles I guess n that's a straight bolt up.. It probably didn't help my cause any that I had 33s leaving posi burn outs leaving friends houses n playing tug a war with other trucks lol oops
