Default Gear ratios for auto RWD, what is going to get best whp on a 7.25?

So, I am completely useless when dealing with gear ratios, when shooting for speed, what am I wanting? I see the 7.25 auto rwd has 3.21, 3.55, 3.90 and 4.1 ratios available, but all I ever see information for is on towing or 4x4s. Can anybody help me?

To break it down simply, the lower the number will give you less acceleration but a higher top speed, the higher the number you will get more acceleration but it will reduce your top speed.

if you truly have 7.25 rear end. they are truly JUNK, save your money to replace it with a 8 1/4. as far as ratios go if you drive only in town a 4.1 works good. 4.1 is as low as should go if you do much high way driving. if you do a lot of high way driving a 3.55 should be the lowest gear. but 3.23 would be better. i have a 01 dak V6 auto trans. i drive in town only. came with a 3.55, i wanted more power. it wasnt getting much MPG any way. so i had a 4.10 gear and a posi put in. my MPG went from 8-9 MPG to 11-12 MPG. cause it was getting it in to OD at 35 MPH. but remember this is in town ONLY.
