Default 5.9 Intake

I recently purchased a 5.9 kegger and throttle body in thoughts of doing the kegger mod and thinking the throttle body would be bigger. turns out they are the same model number parts. i still plan on doing the kegger mod, but i am not sure about boring out the throttle body. is that something you can do with a dremel? also would i get any advantage using the injectors out of a 5.9? i know more fuel needs more air, but would a little more fuel help?

first off what motor are you running (size, family)

Second what have you done to the truck

You can get away with a dremal but i dont recommend it. If you dont have anything performance wise on your truck you will really be wasting your time on modding the keg. You could possibly ruin your bottom end numbers.

you might pick up a few numbers from the keg mod, but.....I wouldn't waste my time with the kegger.... Been there done that...not much to gain.

I would just get a 2bbl M1, better bang for the buck. you can get one for about 150$ now adays.

My suggestion for the 318 ( had about 4 of them)

larger TB
Larger cold air intake (get the eddy pan style)
180 Thermastat
m1 2bbl intake
MSD coil
Efan (take off your clutch fan, unless you have really hot summers)
1.7 rockers

that should significantly raise your MPG and numbers

Here are some good sites:

Performance parts:

Performance/turbo parts

Efans (I would look for the viper aftermarket efan.)

This guy can make you a TB from your existing one ( I have used his before, just be careful not to over tighten the bolts on top. Or if your good you can dermal, sandblast, polish, Jewelry polish it your self)

You may also want to get a trans cooler, they do help quite a bit.
hope this gets you started.
