my Dakota has been acting weird for awhile it wont go into over drive and i cant drive over 55mph or so cause then it just starts down shifting and i dont want to blow anything up. could this be related to the linkage needing to be adjusted? or maybe a speed sensor? also someone told me it could be the neutral safety switch as well? im running out of time and money and i need some help so any info would be great.

 

I'm no expert but I would try the simple things first,,,fluid,,,filter,,,cable adjustment,,,I don't think it would be the neutral saftey switch otherwise your truck would not start,,,sorry I can;t help more but at least maybe I can get some people to tell me I'm wrong and we can find a solution,,,,good luck
