Just installed an M1 and a Fastman, what a difference
I just went through a nightmare of an install with the M1 but geez was that ever worth it. Such a difference, it feels like a new truck with all that air. Anybody else gotten so sick of the plenum leak that they bought an M1?
I took off my kegger and installed a Hughes plate. I also put in a mild cam (204 duration with .456 lift) and headers with stock exhaust and a 3 angle valve job. Truck is stronger but I was a bit disappointed. Maybe picked up 40 hp or less. Some say I need a better intake and TB. Which M1 did you get single or dual plane?

No definitly more than that. Walked a 2002 Lexus the other night and before that one of the old Caddies (ETC, ETS?) with the North Star engine. Don't think truck would be able to do that with only 10 more hps. Its at least producing more torque.
I will defs post some pictures soon, my camera was stolen at a wedding the next day so I need to find some time to go take new ones. Since the install I found my fuel economy holding steady about 22mpg and the lack of oil leak from the useless plenum gasket is fantastic. The intake is a Mopar single plane, I have to double check the model number. It was on sale via Mancini when I bought it, so it was only 450 bucks, though shipping to Canada would have been 300 if I didnt have relatives in Spokane. The intake itself really shows in 2 and 3rd gears at 3000rpm or higher, the truck has a second wind and it is beautiful. It surprised the hell out of a lot of people. To make things even more fun I just installed some pacesetter headers and harland-sharp 1.7s earlier this week. Walked a new Hemi and gave a turbo f-150 a run for his money. I switched to Joe Gibbs 5w30 ZDDP to accommodate the roller-rockers.
Ok, since I am on a limited income and have just spent almost 5K on the truck , I would like to do the M1 and the fastman but can only do one at a time, which comes first, the chicken or the egg? eventually want to put in a mild cam as well again what is the best sequence?
Thanks Gary

Cams, headgaskets, roller rockers, pushrods, valve gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, intake manifold, throttle body.
If your budget is a concern the fastman is fairly cheap, and can be swapped out in 45min maybe 30 if you don't have to use too much TB cleaner on your IAC Motor.
If you want a more challenging project do the M1 first. As a side note, GET THE INSTALLATION KIT!! Not all of them say you need it, but it is sold cheap compared to tracking down everything yourself. Also, unless you know how to make a vacuum tree from billet I would suggest buying one and some NPT plugs So the thing is, if you want to do your cams, you are going to have to take off your manifold to get to your heads anyway. So maybe save up for your cam and the M1 at the same time or buy some 1.7 roller rockers instead. While you are in there, look at beefing up your head gaskets and "reusable" valve cover gaskets. If you go the cam route, save up for some 1.6 roller rockers to really get your moneys worth.
Best sequence for easiest installation?

So if I can get more power and better mpg with a fastman that would be awesome
Planning a round trip drive to vegas later this year or early next year
OK thanks for the reply I ll start checking into the price so I can start accumulating my wealth, The engine was just out last year and hasnt been driven enough to get very dirty yet so not much cleaning to do again. Just drove my first decent long distance drive only 750 miles round trip but was able to get about 17mpg on highway so was pleased with that avg speed was 68 mph (return trip from Hudson Wi To Oconomowoc wi ....295 mi) was none stop and was using cruise control most of the way so mph should be pretty accurate
