crazy lights
I have an 87 Dakota that has a really weird problem with turn signals and hazard lights: The rear turn signals both work on the rear, but neither side works on the front. Both hazard lights work on the front but not on the rear. Obviously it can't be the bulbs and I doubt it can be flashers because I don't think flashers have a seperate section for front and back. I also thought that turn signals and hazard lights use the same wires once power leaves the flasher. Maybe I'm mistken there.
Any ideas might help because I don't have any.

kinda sounds like your turn signal switch might be the culprit. i remember a while back i was chasing down no brake lights. ended up being a dead wire, but alot of the people i had spoken to said either the stop lamp switch, or the entire multifunction switch. if i were you id try to get a diagram of what wire goes where, pull the steering column cover and back probe the wires to each light. if its throwing power to the backs but not the and the probe shows this, it is going to be the multifunction switch. do the same with the stop lamp switch, if i remember correctly it only has 5 wires, power, left, right, computer tcc feed, and cruise control shutoff. but dont quote me on that, its been a while since ive been under there. hope all works out for you,
Chris

Thanks Dodgeman.
I should have posted back the next day that I got it fixed. It apparently was the multifunction switch. I didn't take it apart, I just sprayed silicone in through the hole where the lever comes out and worked it back and forth several times and it started working like it's supposed to. I also removed and reinstalled both flashers; don't know if that had anything to do with the fix.
