dead spot in the fuel pump?
is it even possible?
while i am in the process of finishing rebuilding my dakota i got the 94 motor swapped in and running a week ago and i had it running yesterday also. but today i went to move the truck around and the fuel pump wouldnt kick on.
i swapped the starter relay with the fuel pump and stil nothing. so i ripped the harness apart for any corrosion, i found none(nice for a used harness). i jumped the fuel pump from the battery to the wiring running to the pump and only got a click.
i was upset about having to drop the tank (again) for the fuel pump but just for kicks and giggles i tried starting the truck and she fired right up. i checked all the wire harnesses and everything checks out which leads me to think its just a dead spot in the fuel pump.
anyone ever hear of this or experienced this before?
and also i found out why double checking all the fuel connections is a plus(1 gallon of fuel wasted)
