Default Heater core

So I gotta replace my heater core.. Any tips? What all needs to come out. It's a v8 with out ac

is it leaking? or just no heat?

have you tried using a garden hose and backflushing if it has no heat? if leaking your boned get a manual since its a bit of work but not hard since no ac :O

I was going to flush it but the poor bastard before me bent the living hell out of the copper tubing so... New one it is

LOL figures... what I did with mine was just cut the lines as they go over the motor this way I didn't touch the core itself, then just got some hose connections and clamps.. flushed rejoined with plastic nipples bene running a year like that.. the crud that came out was insane ..

but this wasn't my issue entirely, I still have problems with heat but its due to engine not going past cold, which hurts my fuel economy a lot in winter, never reaches operating temp, and no thermostat and all was changed hell even removed the mechanical fan and dosent make a difference

Quick question. Is the heater core under the dash near where it goes into the fire wall or does it y off into the glove box area. Is your rad leaking? Maybe a nice hole in the rad is keeping every thing nice and cool! I know my rad pisses like a siv

I thought my core went out cause I lost heat took It to the shop they did a pressure test to check for leaks well they the system was just clog by the lug cuz it works now

Well I have almost every vent out just the big black one way in the back has to come out. That's where I called er quits for the night. Couldn't really see a way to get this out. Any ideas?
