Default The Repaint of my 92 Dodge Dakota.

So I have a Dodge Dakota that I have repainted a couple of times now. I finally decided that I am going to paint it again. I decided that this time I am going to go black and blue. This time I am going to take pictures of the whole thing. I am working on the interior right now. If there is any questions please ask I will be happy to answer them.

So first off I took out all the interior. I picked some colors and started planning the look of it. I picked a deep blue and flat black. Here is a picture of the old interior and the take part of the take out of it.

It is a very very long process. It took me to days to take all my interior out. I didn't take a picture of the back of my truck. There use to be a back seat but I replaced it for a box and mounted a couple of speakers in it. I will take a picture of the box since I still have it. It was really quite a mess. I don't have all the interior painted yet I still have the doors and roof to change over. I will now show the pictures of how the new paint is looking.

That is only part of it but it is all painted besides the doors and roof. There is a picture of the doors in there but they are not finished yet. Here is what the dash looks like inside the truck.

That is what I have done so far. I will continue to post pictures add I go along the way. I am also going to paint the exterior. Right now it is spray painted I am going to paint it with automotive paint. It is going to be blue. I will post the pictures of the process of that to.

Sorry for taking so long to finish this remodel. The winter is really really slow for me to do much. But as soon as it warms up I will finish it up.

Lol thats about the only reason I love living in florida. I can always work outside. Its looking good. Do you have cracks on top of your dash? Im guessing thats why you have the mat. I have a few and didnt know if mines would fall appart if i took it out. Only thing i have left to paint.

Huh, well you're doing a pretty damn good job. I wonder how plastidip would do for that purpose. I think I'll be keeping my uber-fake wood grain for now.

I did a dash for my brother in his 95 corolla and I just used caulk. Dabbed it with a sponge to give it texture and painted it. Never had another problem. He eventually sold the car else I would get pics.

Yeah it does have some pretty big cracks in the top of it. That is why there is a top on. But it worked out just fine. I used indoor/outdoor flat black spray paint an indoor outdoor I wanna say deep blue spray paint. My dash mat is actually some cheap replacement carpet from Walmart and I adhesive spray it on.

Alright cool. I was just always afraid it would break if I tried to remove it.
