Default swappable 360 parts on a 318

A few weeks ago my 99 Durango decided to throw a rod through the block

I have a 95 Dakota, I was wondering if there are any parts from the 360 that would give my Dakota's 318 a boost.

Unless you're swapping the whole engine (replacing a 318 with a 360) than no. Intakes, throttle bodies, and exhaust manifolds are the same. The only differences are internal, i.e. larger stroke, pistons, and (possibly) valves.

not to mention the 95 would be OBD1 and the 99 a OBD2, so sensors ect.....

also I believe the Durango is coils vs 95 with the o'l distributor :O

fuel injectors might be a bit bigger, and so fourth, maybe if u got enough spare time and cash do a conversion to OBD2.... this way you can get a programmer and have fun :O but will require a lot of time and effort and swapping/modding cab harness for OBD2 port...

I was under the assumption that the fuel injectors were bigger on the '98 360 I put in my '94 Dakota but was wrong. They were actually smaller and made my truck run like crap. I had to use the injectors off of the '94 318 to match what my PCM was programmed for. Unless he switches to ODB II and uses a programmer like you suggested, there is nothing off of the '99 Durango (other than the 360 with the windowed block) that he can use to make his '95 Dakota run better or faster.

All 360's and 318's are distributor and single coil engines. Coil packs weren't used until they swapped to the 3.7 and 4.7 engines.

That answers my question. I did take one thing, my Dakota has a 5 blade fan, and the Durango has a 9 blade. More equals better.

pull the heads off the durango and build them a little, 2.02 valves and whatnot give the 318 some better breathing at the least. Heck you could do the same with that whole top end assembly. Keg the intake and bore the tb out a little and polish everything up and you might notice a little bit more oompf.

The 360 oil pan was destroyed when the engine blew up. Shot a rod right through the drivers side of the pan. Cracked the block at the same time. The other half of the rod is still poking through the pass. side.
