Thinking about selling my aluminum truck bed tool box and getting a roof height bed cap. Still want to keep tools in my truck so possibly a bin. How possible would it be to swap out a stock tail gate handle for one from a cab door with a lock from a junk yard dakota? They look rougly the same size. Have been looking on local craigslist for caps and looks like I can get aleer or simular brand for 200-300 can sell my tool box for 100-150.

 

i see truck caps for $10 or less all the time on craigslist. tool boxes around here gor for no less that $150 unless its the plastic ones.

 

I got over the rail diamond alum. (BLACK) Delta for 186 new :O locally it worked nice only issue was missing keys.... but the way its setup with trifold cover I don't need it locked.. but winter time I put truck cap back on ....got that for 20 bucks and 5 bucks for red spray paint :O
