pump had a bad contact,fixed but still wont run. pressure on fuel rail on key hits 40 psi but drops to 31 psi and holds. during cranking is 39 psi steady
That's good pressure (39 t0 40 psi), and if it holds at 31 with the key OFF for about a half hour, that's also good. I'd say offhand that the regulator is also working since the pressure holds and also keeps steady at 39 while cranking (the pump can go much higher than that).
Have you the diagnostic codes recently? Do you have a spark?
