Default Radio stopped working

Hey Guys. Got a problem today when I fired up the Dakota. Radio wouldn't work. No display, no sound. It has the original am-fm cassette deck. Checked the 15 amp fuse and it's good. Any ideas on what to look for?
Temperature outside is -10C.

Thanks

Glenn

Just for the heck of it, did you try switching out fuses just in case the fuse is toasted even though it visually appears not to be? Stranger things have happened. Another idea is to remove the bezel and pull the radio out and check to see if you have power to the wires.

Btw if you do find it to be a faulty radio, I have a stock one sitting in my garage that I took out of my 93 Dak years ago. It is in working condition and clean. PM me if you are interested adn we'll work out a deal. I have no use for it as the old truck is living with someone else.

Thank you. I didn't actually check the fuse... Just a visual. Good idea to test it. I'll keep you in mind if I need a replacement.

Thanks Jerry. I had a Sony cd player in her for a while but the faceplate buttons slowly stopped working in it too. Oh well. it's the middle of one of our coldest winters in recent history so Maybe I'll learn to sing...

I got a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Aux at Walmart for $75. With the installation kits, I think it came to around $100. Removable faceplate, too. I've had mine for 1 1/2 years, quality (for a cheap aftermarket radio) is great, and it looks nice, too. I am using the stock, oem speakers, btw.

Nothing against buying the other feller's old radio, but I'm enjoying having a 21st century sound system in my truck (and my XM, MP3 player, and Nook plug right in.)
