Default Dodge Dakota keep dieing

DODGE DAKOTA KEEPS DIEING?

I have a 92 Dodge Dakota, and it dies randomally.
The fuel gage also flickers. I replaced the Computer
Thinking that was the problem, but still doing it.
Any advise?

I will move this to the 1st generation Dakota sub-forum.
There are tons of possibilities, it needs to be diagnosed further to find out what.
Do you have any check engine light codes?

When it dies does it start right back up?
Does it turn off like when you turn the key or does it chug then die?
Does it only die when your foot is off of the accelerator or lightly on it?

In all conditions check for correct fuel pressure and good spark at all plugs when it is acting up.

If I had to guess maybe a bad fuel pump since you said the gauge flickers.

It could really be a number of things. I had this problem with my Dakota and it turned out to be a broken power to the fuel pump which was intermittent before it broke and then there was nothing. I replaced the pump before checking wires. So check that if it comes down to pump.
