Default Easiest way to install shifter linkage?

Well I'm losing my mind on installing my shifter linkage. I can't get that rubber piece of **** into its hole.. I can install the lower connection fine but at the top I can not get it for the life of me..

Vaseline always helps things into tight holes.

sexual and non-sexual joke intended. It works. Mechanic for 15+ years

lol man i think i was drunk i am no when making that first post LOL

upper part of linkage has a plastic/rubber tab, that should be on the main part not part u exteneded. i had to use a pair of channel locks to manipulate mine back in, make sure you are already in lower part or it will be a pita, just dont tighten it down

if you cant get the rubber in the hole.... you need serious help bro :O maybe as Texxan says try vaseline? :P

Well I was using all kinda of lube and yes Vaseline was the winner. I ended up using channel locks and a body fastener remover tool to keep the rubber piece from moving back. That has to be the worst set up I've ever seen ahah. I took my tire off to get a Better angle through the wheel well and broke a stud weeooo... I was wondering how many sex jokes I was gunna get aha
