Default Removing pins from gauge cluster connectors?

The previous owner of this 94 Dakota I've been working on cut a wire off flush at one of the connectors that plugs into the back of the cluster. I have a tool for removing pins from factory connectors but I can't seem to get any of the fittings to get the pin to pop out so i can solder it.

Has anyone had any luck removing the pin, and if so which tool is needed?

Thanks

Well I was able to just use a simple pair of vice grips and wiggled them out, though I wouldn't recommend it. Why are you trying to remove the pins anyways?

I just found a TSB that describes removing "terminal" connects which is what they seem to be calling the ends of the wires. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1994/08-33-94.htm
In it they describe a wedge in the socket with the terminal holding it in, and say not to break it as you remove it. I suspect you have to locate the wedge holding the terminal end of that wire in and don't bgreak it and save it if you need to put a wire back in there.
