If you want a locker, but a Detroit, or Eaton. If you want a good Limited Slip, but an Auburn Gear. and if you're fine with just getting a Mopar Sure Grip limited slip, which is the cheapest limited slip you will find then here you go.

i have a 2001 dakota V6 3.9 auto trans, 3.55 rear gear at first. 2 dr club cab. mostly stock. i put a 4.10 motive gear C8.25-4.10 pt no. rear gear. and dana / spicer locker 84852. in 2011. my MPG went from 8-9 to 11-12, in town driving only. i DO drive hard. cause the computer was tricked into thinking is doing 45 MPH at 30 MPH. RPM dropped to 1200 RPM at 30 MPH. and it does have enough power to roll at 30-45 in O.D. just fine. BUT i do NOT drive the high ways. just what happened. hope this helps.

An ARB or Eaton E-locker are the top end, they are selectable.
Detriot full case lockers are next, they replace the entire carrier.
(both styles above require new back lash settings)
Aussie Locker, Power-Trax, Loc-Rite are called 'Lunch Box' lockers.
They replace the spider and side gears, you reuse the carrier, and no backlash set is required.
Lunchboc lockers are 'Auto Lockers', as soon as power is applied to the driveshaft, the locker locks.
Push in the clutch or let off the gas, they unlock.
Lunch box lockers make a lot of clicking noises (normal)
Detriot full case are quieter.
I have ran Power Trax and Aussies in D 30's and D 44's running up to 35" tires, with no problems.
Had a Detroit full case 'Soft locker' in the rear axle on the TJ, very nice on the road and awesome off road.
Echted also makes an electronic locker, (selectable) but the reviews are not great.
They seem to be OK in rear axles, but in front axles they stink. Had one in my TJ D30, it worked on the jack stands, but not on the trail, even in snow.
ARB's require an air source, added expense unless having OBA is something you want.
