Default Doing a 3.9-5.2 Engine swap. Will my injectors work?

I have a 95 dakota that i am pulling the 3.9 out of in exchange for a 5.2 out of a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Will the Injectors out of the Gen II Jeep work with the Gen I Dakota? Injectors from 91-95 and 96+ have 2 different part numbers but they look the same. Ive done a little research and havent really come up with much, but it looks like they may operate at different psi, although i havent found a definitive answer. If I use the injectors from the Jeep will it run, or do I need to find 2 more like whats on my 3.9 now, and use them?

Try ohm-ing out the injectors to see if they have the same resistance. If they do, and they look the same, I wouldnt see why you couldn't use them but I have never personally done anything like that.

You need injectors from a 94-95 OBDI truck as well as the entire engine wiring harness/computer. The throttle body brackets and sensors can be switched from the 3.9 tb to the ZJ 5.2 tb. Make sure you get the black bodied injectors from a 94-95 dakota or any OBDI Ram/Van with a returnless fuel system. Yellow bodied 92-93 Dakota return style injectors dont work well with the returnless fuel system. Its a royal pain in the butt to switch fuel lines and sending units to run the return style fuel system.

So in theory i should be able to use my v6 3.9 injectors i have in the truck now, and just get 2 more of the same OBD 1 injectors?

I will use all the TB stuff from the 3.9 and put it on my 5.2 TB.

Also, i will need a v8 throttle cable from a dakota correct?

And im using my v6 harness and a ECU out of a 95 Ram 1500.

Yes on the V6 injectors. They are the same. You should really put new o-rings on them. Coat the o-rings with a little bit of Vaseline or motor oil when you put the injectors in. 39 psi makes a pretty good leak if you knick an o-ring!

Yes on the throttle cable. Super easy swap.

I'm using my v6 harness as well and actually a computer from a 94 ram with a 5.9. Is your truck auto or manual trans?

Mine is an automatic. How about EGR...? I decided to not get the egr intake and manifold for the 5.2 so its just not gonna have it, although my truck currently has egr on my 3.9. Do i just plug the vaccum line that goes to it? Indont have a really good idea of what it all consists of i havent gotten in there to look all that hard at it. I shouldnt see any problems except maybe an ocassional CEL, right?

The CEL and cruise gas mileage may not be as bad.

EGR can be removed and shouldn't throw a check engine light if you leave the sensor plugged in and either hide it, or let it hang behind the motor. Plug the vacuum line from the valve back into the sensor, basically creating a loop.

Good on the auto trans. An auto computer will run a manual trans truck but the cruise won't shut off when the clutch is depressed like it would with the correct manual computer.

Okay, so im still not exactly sure what i need to do here for injectors...

A 1995 Dodge Dakota 3.9 injector has a different part number from a 5.2 injector from the same year. which is also different than the 8 jeep injectors that i have from the 1998 Grand Cherokee.

I am going to be using a ECU out of a 1995 Ram 1500 5.2L.

What will work?

1. Using original 1995 3.9 injectors, and buying 2 more
2. Getting 8 new 1995 5.2 injectors (Obviously I know this will work but if i dont have to buy 8 inkectors i do not want to.)
3. Using the 8 injectors from the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I know that it is said that 3.9 and 5.2 are the same, but why would the part numbers be different. This is all via Rockauto website.
