Default Wheel Tire Combo Questions.

I purchased the wheels in this picture. they are 15x8 and the guy had them on a jeep. I do not know what they came on or if they are aftermarket.
But they measure 15x8 with a 5.25 backset. My orig. wheels are 15x6 with a 4.75 backset
One of the wheels has a goodyear 30x9.5x15 tire. When I put the tire on the front, it does hit the front of frame when the steering is turned all the way.
Now I know my back set is .5 in. more then stock and the tire is slightly wider then the factory 235x75x15, but I had read in the FAQ section that a 31x10.50 would work with no mods.
For anyone who has used the bigger tires, did they rub?
It seems to me, I will need to use spacers if I use these wheels, which I really don't want to do.
FWIW the truck will see little or no offroading. I really wanted the wheels and tires for looks.
But here are some pictures.

I have 31s on my stock rims and don't rub. They did rub if i had the wheel turned all the way, until i lifted it.

actually is that bar on top of edge of rim or is it to the BEAD seal lip.... this is were its measured to not the edge of rim.. so in reality if your measuring to edge of rim to the bolt face of rim then your off by about 1/2 inch so in reality your factory is 4.5 and the new are 5.0 inch offset

Are you running 10.5 width on the tires? How much lift, and is it a body lift? One more question if you don't mind, assuming you are running 10.5 width, any wear problems etc, putting those on a 6in. wheel? Thanks for your help.

No, it is setting down in the bead. But in reality, it does not make any difference in this case, as they are both measured the same way. So the difference in backset is only about 1/2-3/4 of an inch more with the new wheel, but the wheel being 2in wider is going to throw the tire foot print out slightly from where the orig. 6in wheel-tire combo footprint would be.

Tires are 10.5 Wide. 3 inch suspension, 2 inch body. They fit great with just the 3 inch though. Could probably even get away with 2. The tires were in pretty rough shape when i got them (maybe 20% tread), and the only wear problems i have noticed is cupping, which is most likely caused by cranking the torsion keys for that 3 inches.

Thanks for your answer. Im thinking about trying a 255/70/15. That is .75 wider and .2 in taller then the factory 235 tire. These should fit the 8in. wheel. I really don't want to lift the truck. Again thanks for your advise.
