Default trans issue

1996 Dakota slt 2wd 163000 miles. Truck drove perfect all day but when heading to work it happened. Doing about 60 mph it jumped out of over drive. Still heading down the road at 50 mph it wanted to randomly shift between 2,3 and over drive. Fluid is relatively clean, New filter and do t smell burnt. after work the fluid was low so I topped it off but no difference. I'm thinking the solenoid went out on me but looking for some help. Will be in shop tomorrow To find problem.

Well the shop thinks it's a electrical issue. No codes came up and the governor pressure was jumping when he took it for a drive. Possibly computer, loose connection or bad solenoid.

Got the truck out the shop and all is well. One of my speed sensor wires shorted out. A new wire, linkage bushing and $80 later. Truck is running smooth.

It didn't. The computer was reading t hat the governor pressure was jumping up and down. The mechanic said he thought is was electrical and put a voltage meter on it and found the short in the speed sensor wire. Du Bose transmission shop in Lufkin, tx. My mechanic is Juan.
