Installed new light switch on 1996 Dakota. When you pull the switch to first stop no running lights. Pull all the way out head lights come on fine, but no running lights. However if you slightly push the **** in headlights and running lights work. Same thing in first position. Pull to first stop no running lights, push in slightly and they come on. This is the third switch I've tried, same thing on all three. I also replaced the wire connector and pigtail. Original switch had to be replaced because it shorted and got hot. Any insight would be great!

 

Try a different brand of switch?

Sounds like three bad ones, are you getting them from the same source (could be a bad production batch and you keep getting the bad ones).
