Default CB Radio installation - 1996

I have a 1996 Dakota, and I am looking to install a CB inside. I will place it in a specially designed hump console, but I am struggling with the power and antenna. How can I hardwire it?

Also, I plan to use a magnetic antenna placed upon the roof, but how can I run the cable into the cab? Is there a grommet in the rear, or would it be safe (albeit ugly) to run it through the vent windows?

There isn't a grommet to the rear, but if you're very, VERY careful - and especially if you can remove the bed first! - you can add one, which is what I'm considering doing. That, or while redoing the headliner, drill the roof and mount a roof mount antenna for when I DO buy the CB and mount it.

As to how, if you have a specially designed hump console, can it cover and hide the wiring for the power to/from the dash area, where you can then run to the fuse box?

I am also considering an antenna kit that will place a bracket to a bolt already under the lip of the hood. Any clue as to where a grommet is upfront? I want to avoid drilling in general.

The console is linked below. I would most likely run the power cable to the forward limit before lifting it up and running the cables behind the lower plastics going left to the fuse box. Now I just need to learn how to wire it from the fuse box, or could I power it by the passenger footwell light?

I ran mine through the rear passenger window with no problems. I mounted my radio in place of ashtray with a couple zip ties and the side screw on the radio. Be careful though the antenna wire will rub the paint off the roof.
