I found a 96 with a 318 engine that is being junked. I want to try and get at least the engine for a conversion on my 87. I believe I will not have as many problems getting it in with the Dakota accessories vs a ram or van accessories.
That being said, he has the automatic transmission, transfer case etc. for sale.
Now for my question. Can anyone tell me, what controls the 96 transmission? Is it computer controlled? If it is, I don't want to use it, as I plan to go with a carb intake and as standard hei ignition.
Also, the dash has the tach. Does anyone know what is involved in using the newer dash in a 87?
