Default what colors go to what? manual to electronic carb.

Hi Im a New member and owner 1987 Dakota Le 4x4 3.9L carbed truck. I just recently bought a new carb online old one was bad. New one is electronic choke, was pretty similar to old one except old, one was manual choke so the wires are differently colored than old ones. New one has like brown and green wires and the harness to the old one is red and black. Havent been able to find any info on what color wires go to what so can hook it up. so came here seeking help. Carb i bought off of guaranteed carburetors online and is an aftermarket holley 6280.

I have a 87 v6. I looked under the hood and what I found is this.
The green and brown wire goes to the computer feed back circuit and not the choke.
The choke is actually in the intake manifold. The wire that feeds it is blue with a white stripe. Now if your new carb has a standard electric choke mounted to the side of the carb, I would think you would either run the blue stripped white wire to the new choke and then run a ground to the other terminal of the choke.
Now I am assuming the blue-white wires stays hot any time ignition is on, but if not, then just find a constant ignition wire, (one that is only hot when motor is running) hook it up to the choke and again ground the other terminal off of the choke.

Edit to add. After going to the web site and looking at the picture of the carb. http://www.guaranteedcarburetors.com...tml/T2-618.htm The 2 wires shown are not for the choke. They go to the computer feed back circuit. I believe you would splice them color for color. FWIW the plug on mine has 3 wires green, brown, and black. Again the green and brown go to the feed back circuit. The black, I think goes to the choke pull off. IMO you will probably have to just leave it loose. But at any rate, I would contact the carb company and see what they say. Its either the wrong carb or its not an exact replacement.

Gonna replace the fuel filter also and found out had some bad vacuum hoses gonna replace that and then splice the wires into the harness like picture on site. Knowing what colors hook up to what is very helpful. thanks for your help Ragtop. the carb i got from the site is the one pictured on the bottom with only the two wires coming out of it.
