Okay, so I hope this brightens your day a bit. I'm finishing up my frame replacement and went to move the truck today. I backed up with my door open, door hit pile of tires, idiot (me) slammed on freshly bled untested brakes, idiot did not push clutch in, idiot was in 4-lo, truck kept moving, door bent, idiot idiot. Luckily the cab seems okay.

had that happen on my jeep liberty.... put it in park.... walked away daughter still in back seat(engine was off) it started rollign away i ran opened door, to grab the ebrake cause it was rolling into traffic, it caught the car beside me and ripped the door clean off
, wrecked the cab mounting area, front fender and part of drivers side hood got damaged , was funny to see a liberty with no door... guess it wanted to be a wrangler!! .. then ofcourse it was left outside awaiting damage estimate and a storm came through and soaked the internal electronics.. written off lol , now i got a Jeep TJ so , Screw those doors.. Dont need it anyway! unless its -40 ...LOL

you got off easy with just a door.

Haha glad I'm not alone. For the moment I just latched the door. Hinges aren't bolted because they don't even come close to the bolt holes....lol. If I drive it I'll have to get out the passenger's side...I mean I could open the drivers door but it would fall on the ground hahaha. Found a door at a local yard, gonna pick it up next week.

Tbugden - I'd laugh and point, but I'd justifiably have three fingers pointed back at me ... since I did it even stupider.

Was working on the steering column, hadn't chocked the wheels, dropped column, auto dropped out of gear, wasn't where I could get my foot on the brake, and .. backed it into my Cougar, which was sitting up on jack stands! Knocked the Cougar off the jack stands (BTW - I usually put the wheels and tires UNDER a car when I have them off, was very Very VERY glad I did! Cougar landed on the wheels and tires, nothing damaged except my pride on it), and ... crumped the door back into the fender.

So my list includes a new fender and door for now ...

(Would post pictures, but just describing it is embarrassing ENOUGH ... )
