Default more fun with fuel pumps

Okay just want to make sure my diagnosis is right. I have a 10 year old autozone fuel pump. I can't get the engine to rev above 4 grand. The fuel filter is clear. Am I right in guessing the pump is dying? Engine is 3.9 freshly rebuilt no vacuum leaks or leaking fuel lines injectors are clean.
Any other ideas?

I dont think there is a way to be sure unless you actually test the fuel pressure with a gauge.

Exactly. Buy or borrow a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure under load. Guessing will just end up costing you money.
