Default Oil pressure

I was at a redlight in idle and all of a sudden my oil light started to flicker and the gauge dropped? The needle was jumping everywhere. The truck sounded fine. It did it again a couple days later. It doesn't happen everytime at a low rpm/Idle but I am concerned.

What do you think is going on there? Sending unit? Bearings? pump??

Going to check the oil pressure today.

Have you checked the oil level? Yes, I'd check it with a secondary mechanical gauge to verify if it's the sender or the pump. (if it's not just low on oil)

It does not say what motor. I have the 94 3.9 magnum. I had a high pressure issue and since i knew the oil was good I went straight to replacing the sender unit. It's less than $20. You may need a special socket to remove/install it I did, also less than $20. The sensor is located in the back of the intake near the EGR under all those vac hoses and wires.

Change your oil as well and look for bearing material. I had this problem and currently a bearing is failing in my engine. Switched to a 15w40 oil and have oil pressure at idle again haha. We will see how long it lasts. My oil looked like a metallic paint.
