Default Manual steering rack conversion

I would like to know if changing to a manual rack/pinion from a power one has been done? I'm putting a V8 where the V6 was in my '87 Dakota for more ease of installation. I've done this before but always kept the power steering. Had to make brackets and mounts that would accept the V8. Suggestions? Also what is the best motor mounts for this swap? I'm using a LA 360 for a motor.

I gather that it's not a very late LA motor, so it doesn't have the Magnum mount points on it.

Shumacher ( http://engine-swaps.com/Pages/Produc....96Dakota.html ) makes motor mounts for that swap.

I've not heard of a manual rack - from the time when my power steering pump was out, I'd say that's NOT a good idea without rebuilding the column also! But, and this may help, Carroll Shelby's crew fit a 5.2/318 in the 1989 and 1990 Dakotas, so the hoses are available to fit it in the same location that it would be with the 3.9 accessory drive on the front.
