Default 95 Dakota 2.5 carb conversion

Any one converted a 2.5 from Efi to carb, if so what adapter for the carb and what about the distributor if you take the computer out. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

I cannot imagine a good reason for the conversion. You'll get less fuel efficiency if it is even possible. If you want a carb/no computer motor you should just get one and build it as you like then install it. This link tells about the motor and how many different cars it was in. That may help you in finding parts. http://www.allpar.com/mopar/25.html They also mention the mitsiubishi motor, I happen to have the 85 Ram 50 and it has the carbureted 4cyl Mitsubishi motor. It works good, it is strong but the fuel mileage is less than I get on the 946cyl dak. It may be that the Weber carb on it isn't a real made in Spain Weber. I just haven't bothered to spend the money on a new one to see if that helps. Rebuild kits aren't as good as they should be and Webers own site isn't much help. The diagrams are too hard to read unless you already know what it is supposed to look like.

I thought the 95 2.5 was the AMC/Jeep block rather than the earlier Chrysler 2.2/2.5 OHC motor from the Daytonas and Omni's. If it's the OHC setup you can go with an early holley/weber 2bbl, get an earlier electronic ignition distributor (like from an 81 omni) and you should be good. But why? Do you just need a SBEC or SMEC for the 95?
