Default Tourque Converter problems!

How's everyone? I got a 92 5.2 2wd auto and I can't tell if my tourque converter or Rearend is going out. When I go from park or neutral to Reverse or 1 2 or D it wants to die but if I hurry and throw it in park or neutral it idles back up and is fine. When I do get in to go in gear it will move but as soon as I give it gas it locks up and dies. I was able to drive it last week tranny shifts great but when I would take of before it shifted to 1st it would jerk real bad. I always owned 5/6spds don't like autos but got this truck for a steal any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Easiest thing to do first is remove the rest diff cover and inspect the gears.

Ok I'll be doing that tonight I've been working out of town but I've been seeing and reading it sounds more like a tourque converter cause I hear no noise I could freely move the wheels while i had it jacked up in neutral.

Ok I put a new Rearend in 3.55 gears locker didn't fix problems. The other rearend was bad but I believe it's the transmission so I'm gonna start looking for a Nv3500 or get this one built.

Ok I'm at the end of my fuse, I am assuming it's either the tcc or tourque converter itself but just the other week I was driving if and it shifts great and doesn't slip at all goes into overdrive no problem. I'm going to change tcc tomorrow if I'm off but before I do has anyone had this problem or maybe some advice cause finding a nv3500 isn't gonna happen around here. Any help would be appreciated just don't think it's my tranny gotta be tcc or bad ground.

Any codes? That's the first place to start.

Did you run codes, or are you just going on "CEL not lit"?

Yes I was I until I got a chance to click the link. I'm at work. Thank you btw. Next ? Is seeing how I've not seen my cel light come on should I reset PCM or just check for codes first? I read here awhile ago you unplug battery and turn key on for 15-20sec this correct?

Check for codes first.

It'll flush several out while you're checking.
