Default Spectre Dual Plenum Cold Air Intake on a 1993 Dodge Dakota?

Would this cold air intake fit on the gen 1 dodge dakotas? I am trying to find a solution to getting a really nice cold air intake that will fit on my carb and clear the stock hood. Would this one work? If not what other options do i have?

That is in no way, shape or form a cold air intake.

It could be, if he used a 12-inch spacer and installed it on top of the hood.

Well, the factory intake is a cold air intake on the early Gen1's, and on the later Gen1's I've seen in the boneyard.

if you knock out the little plate on your core support up front that sits on the very front of your intake tube, the stock air inlet functions as a ram-air intake. why you'd need more than that is beyond me unless your going forced induction.

Alright so that will be fine with the current filter i have? It is a fram filter not a k&n yet, want to wait to see what i am going to do for my intake. How fast will it get dirty and what is the frequency i would have to try and use a compressor and blow the dirt and stuff off?

That depends on where you drive. If it's dirt roads, check it every time you change your oil. Paved roads should last 10000 miles. But really it depends on a lot of variables. When I had a K&N, I cleaned it once a year or 10000 miles or so. Paper filter I change once a year.

I've heard of guys who put a filter at the end of the intake behind the grill. You'd have to check that fairly often if the gravel roads are dusty.
