Default MT 2500 Question

Does anyone have a MT 2500 they have used for Gen 1 ABS RWAL?

I had a brake warning light and ABS light come on. The issue is now fixed.

When the problem first occurred the Chry-1 plug gave me a message that said it could not communicate with the RWAL system. I discovered there is also a Chry-2 connector that will plug in under the dash and ordered it. It happened to show up as I was fixing the brakes. Its supposed to be for the ABS. I have tried it and I get the same message I got using the other plug. That message is;

"No comm available. For troubleshooter, Use power pac, or use Multi-1 with ground extension & either power cable. Press Y to continue. "

There is no power source for the Chry-2 plug and the book says that it works without supplied power. I only have the power line that plugs into the lighter. I have no idea how I might use a power pac or what the Multi-1 is. I think I understand the ground idea and I suppose I could splice one in but the book does not show any cable with a ground for this unit.
The Primary cartridge is the MT25001099 & the Troubleshooter cartridge I have in is the MT25002900
I have another Primary MT25001000 & Troubleshooter MT25002998
