Default 24 valve CUMMINS in dakota anyone???

OK! i have a project in mind but im not sure if anyone else has done this....

the plan is, to take the 24v cummins and auto trans out of my friends wrecked 2wd 3/4 ton ram and put it in place of the 318 that is currently in my dakota, i know that serious mods will be in place but i just want to know.. HAS ANYONE ATTEMPTED THIS????

if anyone has, let me know. ive got quite the parts list gathered up for what im going to need for this project, but i know there will definetly be more needed along the way.

I think it could definatley be done. but you will have to make quite a few mods first. I have seen this before, but i never payed too much attention to it, so i cant help much.

Find some serious suspension and a new frame if you are serious, the thing weighs A LOT. I have just the engine at my shop and it tips our forklift, if that tells you anything.

i know how heavy it is, ive had to pull one out of a different 3/4ton ram that a friend of mine and i put a banks power kit on turbo/clutch packs & flywheel/new oil pan/oil pump etc..., they are definetly heavy! i know frame/motor mount/suspension mods will be needed.

if i could get some pictures to see what people have done before for this, it would be great.

thanks for your help

I have a 1996 Dakota. It has solid axle swap with a p-pumped 24 valve. I only had to move radiator and switch to electic fans. But its lifted 4 + suspension and 2 inch body lift

How far forward did you have to move the radiator and did you have to put the fans in front of the radiator instead of in the rear?

24 valve cummins and a 5 speed are on my list for when i build a new frame in a few years. I planned to add about 6" to the hood and fenders anyway so that I can fit 40" tires without having the truck sitting 10 feet in the air.
