Default Prepare for winter...

Hey ya'll. Just want to give all you a heads up that live where winter is actually winter. Kellsport Products (http://www.kellsportproducts.com/) is having a sale on Fluid Film on orders over at least $49.50 for 10% off, free shipping, and a free key chain , use the code fall2016. I HIGHLY recommend this product for protecting your truck from salt spray. Use it in all crevices in the frame, pull the plugs out of the backside of the rockers, spray it in your doors, suspension, everything except brake rotors. I bought their cheap spray gun and apply it that way. A gallon will do the whole truck easily, but I do two applications, one halfway through the winter.

It truly does not take much salt. Even a couple storms and a couple applications of road salt does irreversible damage.

The original frame busted in two because of rust and I intend that to NEVER happen with my new frame. Same deal with my dad's Chevy...though it ain't broke yet...

It really does wonders, besides rust prevention it helps prevent rock chips if you've painted your frame.

Oil works real good too but makes your truck super nasty to work on.

I don't work for Fluid Film...just like to see vehicles on the road for the long haul, not good when something preventable like rot kills a car.

Also clean out the dirt and sand in your front leaf spring mounts and upper control arm mounts especially. That **** will kill the mounts, make 'em rip right out of the frame.

I assume you have used this before? How far does a gal. go on protecting the underside of a vehicle?

Yeah the past 2 winters I've used it. A gallon will do the whole bottom easily plus rockers, backside of bumpers, fuel straps, wherever you can get it... if you spray it on which I highly recommend doing. Brushing it on is not worth saving the few bucks on a cheap undercoating gun.

Indeed, it works very well even with my little compressor. It is nice to have a spray can or two if you want to get inside the rockers and other tight spots but 95% of the truck can be done with the big spray gun.
