93 dodge Dakota no spark. Crank or Cam sensor?
Hello, I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota 3.9l that isn't getting spark. A family friend Said it sat for 6 months and then when he tried to start it wouldn't start so he gave it to me. I checked all the wires under the fuse box and they all seem to be connected and working. All fuses and relays seem to be in working order. I unplugged the ignition coil and checked the 2 wires ( orange/green and white or something like that, not sure on the colors) and no power getting to either of the 2 wires. The code I get is 54, no fuel sync(cam shaft sensor) So now I'm confused. I found one forum that said that the CAM sensor only control the fuel and that the CRANK sensor controls the spark. Some forums say to replace the CRANK sensor and others say to replace the CAM (ignition pickup) So the question is CAM (ignition pick up) or CRANK.
