I have a 95 Dakota sport 4X4 automatic with 318. I also have 95 Dakota extended cab 2 wheel drive automatic with 3.9 . I wanna swap motors , I've never done it but any information is helpful. What all will I need.

 

Are you intending to swap the 3.9 into the 5.2 and vice versa, or just scavange the 5.2 to install in the 3.9? In other words are you looking to end up with one running truck or two? If you're just wanting the extended cab 2 wheel drive to have a 5.2, just swap the cab and bed from the 3.9 onto the 5.2. Leave the motor and drivetrain.

 

The frame on 4X4 is shot . And gonna junk the 3.9plus the 4X4 is regular cab

 

located where? What will become of the leftovers? what exactly is bad on the 4X4 frame? I cold use some of the 4X4 parts, if the 3.9 runs someone may want it.
to drop the V8 in place of the 6 won't be all that bad.

 

The tranny has no reverse the passenger rear spring mount is broken off frame the tranny mount that hooks to frame is rusted real bad the frame that is .the four wheel drive parts I'll sell . I'm located in greensburg Indiana.
