Leaf springs

Then again, my concern is not your concern *grins*
So forget that item.
With that concern not there, then you should not have any problem.
Be sure to get new U-bolts also; and this is a perfect time to replace the old tired rear shocks.
May I suggest a firm set, maybe Ranchos?
(I've got some KYB GR2's to go on my truck; then again, I don't squat the rear of mine much.)

Ranchos are a firmer ride; if you're loading it down, they may do better than the Monroes. But if the Monroes are that new, I'd leave those for now.
I dunno about the U-bolt quality; depends on which O'Reilly's brand you use I think. Do NOT cheap out on those!
O'Reilly lists the Dorman in the proper size; my past experience with Dorman is that for most of their line, "If anything else is available, use the other!" *grins* They may be good enough; I would rather spend the dollar at the local Chrysler dealership. Well, no, see my previous mention of the spring shop in town; I'd pay their price for one they feel comfortable with warrantying. But I have that cheat *grins*

I don't have a 4x4, but my understanding is that you're backwards; the uppers fit just fine, the lowers need to be trimmed on one of them because the 2WD bushing is longer than the matching position on the 4WD lower control arm.
I'd ask someone who's actually been there, though; I may be misunderstanding it.

My 90 and 89 had that valve on the rear springs but my 92, 93, 94, and 96 don't.
On the original question I have bought from general spring before, had good service from them. Get the 2550 lb springs. If you load it at all you'll be glad you did.
On the spring shop by me; I went to ask to see what they would charge to add a leaf to my springs if I removed them and brought just the springs in, a bench rebuild so to speak. $250, to $300... Add another$100 if they do the whole job including the R&R. Yikes for 300 I can get brand new ones. When I had my 94 I bought an add a leaf kit from a 4x4 parts place. Don't go by their application guides, look for one the width the same as yours and length almost what the main leaf is, will add capacity with out being too harsh or too high when not loaded.

Dakota1996, I have a set of springs I pulled from a 95(?) Dakota 4X4 at the junk yard about 10 years ago. I was retrieving the rear axle and wound up pulling it with the springs, just because it was easier that way. The springs are in very good shape, if you're interested just PM me, I'll let 'em go pretty cheap.
