Default Dodge Dakota code 27

I've had code 27 for the last month or 2, and have not been able to figure out the issue. I am now getting the 27 three times when I do the key dance. My other thread was getting too long. Too many suggestions that had been covered.

The truck is a 93 4x4 5 speed with a 5.2 magnum swap. Before the swap fuel pressure was perfect. This leads me to believe it is either the fuel rail or the wiring/ splice for the 2 added injectors. I'm really not sure how to test if this is the case.

With a fuel gauge hooked up at the rail I am losing pressure in the "on" position. The truck is running at 28 psi.

I hooked up light noids to each injector, and all 8 injectors light up.

I am thinking it is the fuel rail losing pressure. I found a small kink in it. The problem with this is I cannot find another rail. Any other suggestions on what to check? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you search this term on ebay "fuel rail Dodge Dakota 5.2L" there is a guy selling a new one and a guy selling a used one and several people who have injector parts for the Dodge 5.2. I also found this. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/...ukey_make=1062 Keep calling junkyards.

I'm not really willing to throw $3-400 at it without knowing that's the fix. The 97 rail is different. The 93 fuel rail has a return line, and the 94+ does not.

I do have a rail from a 96 ram... Has anyone tried using a 94+ rail on a 92-93 fuel line? Can I just install it and cap my return line?

I put a call in to a place in Portland. He'll get back to me later probably tomorrow he figures it won;t be more than $50. If they have it (A 93 5.2L Dakota fuel rail) I'll PM you the info

The lines were in the wrong spot for the van rail. I called all over, and found a 92 dakota. $17.14 for the rail!!!
I'm going to change it out, do a drive cycle, and try the key dance again.

I finished installing the rail, and now my pcm is throwing 45,37,32,and only 1 27. Before the rail it threw 27 3 times. The fuel line going to the rail seemed to be in poor shape. Back to the junk yard!

sounds like you are getting it run down.
Wish I knew more about the computers.

I still have not resolved this issue, or had time to throw new fuel lines at the problem. I do have new information that makes me think the fuel lines would be a waste of time.
I noticed that when I shift into neutral sometimes my rpms will dip down to 200-400, and then it seems like the engine will rev by itself. Then I have a normal idle again.

Should I check IAC? Crank sensor? Fuel pump? Based on some of the searching I've done online I'm thinking IAC. How would I test it? would I be wasting my time checking it?

You can clean the IAC easily there are lots of YT vids. Don't twist the inner part in or out too much. I was just looking at things online and one guy is saying that the 27 means one of the injectors has failed and to detect it pull the plug wire for each cylinder and the one that does not change how the motor runs is the bad one. ??
