Default Leaking Oil After Replacing Water Pump

I have a 95 Dodge Dakota 5.2 that was overheating. Have replaced thermostat, water pump, clutch fan and radiator and now I have a small oil leak somewhere. Doesn't leak on the ground but blows back on the motor when I took it out for a test drive. Does anyone have any ideas as to where that may be coming from? It's blowing back on the front right side fire wall and radiator.

If its an automatic, check the transmission lines going to the radiator. You would have disconnected them to remove the radiator and is likely the leak.

I can think of three possibilities - you'll have to check and eliminate them.

1) Front main seal leaking (at the harmonic balancer); if this is it, you'll also see a lot of oil on the front of the block.

2) Since the timing chain cover (behind the water pump) covers the timing chain, and there's a LOT of oil going behind there, maybe a leak sprung in the TC cover? If you do have to pull that, I'd highly recommend doing the timing chain while you've got the cover off.

3) Valve cover gasket leaking at front of motor.

Before I worried too much about WHERE, I'd take some engine degreaser, clean ALL the engine bay completely, and then run it over some white paper ; see if you can find the oil spray with it clean.

Just a thought, but could your replacement clutch fan be leaking fluid?
