Need suggestions on 5.2 magnun
Hola all
I'm looking for mods to the magnum 5.2 to boost horsepower by thirty or so while I'm rebuilding it.
This motor will be in 93' dak with a AX15 behind it with 3.88 in the diff. This is going to be a tow vehicle for a largish but lightweight travel trailer under 5,000 lbs. I think with 300 ft. lbs. of torque won't be a problem. Any info will be apperciated.

I will just share my opinion.
But most everything that will raise hp will move the torque and hp to a higher rpm level. Which for a tow vehicle you dont want.
That being said, if you are rebuilding the 5.2, my suggestion would be to find a used 5.9 shortblock with the balancer and flywheel and rebuild it. Move your cam and heads over to the 5.9.
You can probably pick up a used 5.9 to rebuild for less then 250 and again IMO, for the money you will get more then trying to add power to the 5.2
