Question Transmission Band Adjustment Questions

I have a list of questions regarding adjusting the TB bands on my auto transmission. Please answer what you know

1. Do the adjustments slip over time, or are you adjusting them based on how worn your transmission/bands are?

2. Can I adjust just the front/exterior bands or do I have to doth both internal/rear at the same time?

3. Difference between front/exterior and internal/rear band adjustment?

The biggest "jump" is between neutral and drive, but there is also a little jump when engaging reverse. The transmission shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 a bit late holding my RPMs up high...although this may be a torque converter issue but I figured adjusting the front exterior band adjustment would be the simplest action to take right now...really not looking to drop my pan and do the internal adjustment.

This really sounds to me as if I am adjusting "bands" in the transmission, so retensioning a stretched band back to factory tension is what I am doing here? (meaning the adjustments are not slipping, but rather the transmission/bands are becoming worn?

Please help!

Assuming all else is working well Your description made me think your throttle valve cable is out of adjustment. I'd make sure it is set properly at the transmission first then at the throttle body and drive it to see before tackling the bands. I've read about the band adjustment but never did it. I got the impression they wear and require adjustment.
