I'm thinking about trying a Donaldson oil filter. I will have to do some research, to see which Donaldson oil filter will fit my 88 3.9 V6

 

Several.

Any short filter that fits a Ford 289/302/351/5.0SO/5.0HO for instance (the canonical Motorcraft FL-1A and its directs don't due to the frame being in the way; the FL300 is what I'm using, which is a short version thereof.)

I ordered one & my next oil change is due in 3 months. I just changed the oil last night. I used 4 qts. of NAPA 10W-30 motor oil, 1 qt. of Rislone engine oil treatment, & a NAPA Gold 1348 oil filter.

 

BOSCH is a good quality filter.
