Large Steel Cables from Cab to Bed. Purpose?

Default Large Steel Cables from Cab to Bed. Purpose?

I have always wondered what these cables are for. Anyone know for sure?

being that the cab is mounted to the frame via rubber mounts and the bed is bolted directly to frame they serve as a ground path.

It's to prevent static buildup of the cab while foozling down the road.
