Clutch pedal rod removal

How does this thing come off the pedal or out of its home? I cant for the life of me figure it out and the fsm isnt helping me either..

According to the exploded parts diagram at http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/...category=20303 there's a restraining clip that pops out, then a bushing and washer, then the rod should just pull right off.
