Found some ugly stuff under the carpet after removing the whole interior to power wash it.
Used a wire wheel to grind it all down
Interior after being power washed as it was disgusting
Cleaned up the floorboards
Sanded the bed, prepping it for the roll on bedliner
Painted the rust with POR15
Used the POR on bare metal in the bed. Will sand it again to prep for roll on bedliner.

Not sure how much luck you are going to have sanding the POR 15..... I used Chassis saver on a project, and I couldn't even sandblast the stuff off.......

I'e never had an issue with scuffing up the POR for paint or bedliner whether in my S10 or Sonoma pickups. I was able to scuff up the dakota pretty good by just using a sandpaper sponge. The POR is tough but rough sandpaper will scuff it up.

Here she is ready for the bed and fender flares to be Herculined!

Out with the old and in with the new.
Front bumper as well as the wheels wells after the herculined

The bed after one coat as well as the rear bumper
The sound deadener started going in
After the bedliner was completed

Did you do the inside of the rear bumper as well? Most of them I see, rust from inside out.

Absolutely. Wire wheeled as much as i could, POR and then i brushed on a black bbq grill paint that you can get from basically any hardware store. Ive had very good luck over the years using that method.

It looks good BlueLiner! I know where an 88 Dakota is that you can come clean! HAHA! I need to take out the bench seat today and pressure wash it.

Hey BlueLiner! Was the carpet hard to take out & what did you clean the seats and carpet with? By the way, I see you bought some NAPA parts for the truck. I work at NAPA, so I know those boxes when I see them!
