Anyone using the poly bushings in their leaf springs? Just would like their opinion on them.
Got the rear of my truck tore apart. My factory bushings dont look bad (83,000 miles) but being 30 years old, well......

FWIW I have put poly bushings in the front end, ie. control arms, sway bar.

 

Not yet, but I have'em.

Pros: Less likely to fail with age; more consistent ride over the years.

Cons: Passes more of the road vibration through from the springs to the chassis; can squeak with age (and not much age!) due to how poly works.

Recommendation: Try to keep some spray lube handy, and hit them every time you're under the truck, to keep it from sounding like a set of bed springs under some newlyweds on their honeymoon ...

Yeah I got them in mine. No problems but they do squeak a little. Doesn't bother me at all but if you can't deal with your truck making a few miscellaneous noises then it might bother you.

 

You can always coat the mating surfaces with copper anti seize

 

They make this ridiculously sticky grease specific for the poly bushings which I used liberally. But they still started to squeak a little...or perhaps that's something else in the rear end...lol who knows.

 

Same as Ralph...have them but not installed them yet. No squeaking yet.
