Hey guys, I just got my Dad's, now mine, (before that my granddads and before that my great granddads lol) 87 Dakota running! Its got the 3.9 liter and a five speed manual trans in it. Ive had this truck for almost three years and had a hell of a time replacing the manual trans (the old one threw a bearing in the internals and it screamed reeeeaaaaaalllll bad) but I finally sourced one from a wreckage yard and was able to get the truck up and running better than ever. I'm stoked to work on this thing, I've got a ton of plans for it. Tires, radio, dash cover, paint work, bed work, headache rack, lights, both normal and offroad. I love the look of this truck and have a ton of ideas for cosmetic and out door upgrades, but I'm a little stumped on power upgrades. I know its possible to drop a 5.2 in there, which would be awesome, but I also want to get a LSD and a brake upgrade, possible suspension upgrades etc. My vision is for this truck be more of an offroad crawler than a straight tireroaster. Anyway, the truck is named Ol' Dawg, and I'm excited to introduce him to you guys. He's a classic and has a lot of life left in him.
Those were the first visual upgrade I did.... I like it . And unfortunately the barn belongs to my boss..... but he lets me work there so thats a win haha
