How do I disconnect the trans lines from radiator 1994?

Default How do I disconnect the trans lines from radiator 1994?

It is a 1994 slt 3.6 Dakota. How do they come off and how do I prevent trans fluid from drainng? Thank you.

Need the special tool. Most parts stores will sell them. I think it's the 3/8ths that you want.

how does it work? Are the clips reusable?

Put the tool around the line, slide it into the connector, push the connector ON a bit more, while pushing the tool into it, then the connector should just slide right off. (tool stays in place... it doesn't go with the connector.) To put it back on, just push the connector onto the line until it clicks. Done. If it isn't currently leaking, nothing else needs to be changed.

I got a tool at NAPA. I had to grind down the side I used because it extended too far to fit between the rad and the fitting. It worked fine. Found my old post with pictures https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-question.html
