Death of my '93 Dakota LE 5.2l..
Okay, so first off, I've got a few engine codes. I forgot what they are, I'll go get them after I post.
My truck is a '93 LE with a 5.2l automatic.
One of my codes is for sure injector control circuit failure. Some of the wires on the harness are melted a bit and looks like that's what's causing the problem.
However, it was still driving for awhile. It would die randomly, and at first, it would always start right back up. It would occasionally backfire after it would start back up. Once, it backfired while I was driving. Scared the **** out of me lol. Anyways, it finally stopped starting up at all after it died on me one time, even with starting fluid. Could it be a bad ECU? Last December, long story short.....kind of drove my truck into some water that was deeper than initially thought....could this have damaged it? Water was up to the floorboard

I'll bet it's the burned wires, and possibly the ECU.
I'd fix the wires FIRST. And work from there.
(And why haven't you fixed the burned / melted wires; and which wires ARE they??)
