What engine do I have?
I have a 91 Dakota 3.9 2WD and cant find the belts i need. There are 4 belts coming off the crank, 2 belts per pulley. For example, the alternator (Bosch) pulley has two slots and houses 2 skinny belts. Every belt i find to replace them is a single belt. Is there a sub model I’m not aware of?
Also need some direction on changing the belts as it has an engine driven cooling fan and I’m not seeing where the belts can be slipped off and on. Thanks!

a) Look up a 1990; the 1991 V8 got the serpentine belt, and most cross references only show those. RockAuto does show the separate belts for the 3.9; you can always use that for the part numbers too.
b) They don't slip on and off; check your factory service manual (you DO have one, don't you?) for full instructions, but basically 1) the power steering pump loosens up and tightens up that belt; the AIR pump loosens up, slides in, and slides out and tightens for THAT belt; 3) the alternator has a lock nut that loosens, and then that crank screw that points to the passenger side sky loosens and tightens the belt.
It's olde skool but how we use to do it before the serpentine belt designs.
Also ... you should have a decal under the hood that shows the routing; if not, take a few pics and note which belt goes where.
